Audio of the new Smashing Pumpkins song ‘Black Sunshine’ from performed in Mexico City. Wonder if the song title has any reference to the setlist names used during the 20th Anniversary tours, which of course were “Black Sunshine,” & “White Crosses”

The song has a very classic heavy rock sound to it, similar to the track Billy Corgan did with Tony Iommi (Black Oblivion) many years ago. It’s interesting to see if this is a direction we can expect for the Smashing Pumpkins with the next release.

This coming Wednesday 25th July Triple J’s own Zan Rowe will be featuring a special on the reissue of Pisces Iscariot:
WED: Today I’ll feature a reissue of Smashing Pumpkins “Pisces Iscariot”. It’s just come out, ahead of their first Australian shows in years, this weekend.

Also last week Zan also tweeted Billy was locked in for her weekly ‘Take 5’ segment where an artist picks 5 of their favourite songs and talks about them. However today she let us know that it is still waiting to be confirmed. We’ll let you know if we hear anything further.

Only a week until the Smashing Pumpkins Oceania tour starts in Perth at Challenge Stadium. The Smashing Pumpkins will be performing new songs from their new album ‘Oceania’ along with the Smashing Pumpkins classics too.

The rumour on the street is the Pumpkins have an amazing stage setup ready to unveil in Perth and Australia may be the first country to hear Oceania performed in full.

Limited tickets are still available for the shows around Australia and in New Zealand. All the information is on the Secret Sounds website.

See you there!
